  • "I tell parents every week that gentle pressure on the gums is the simplest way to help teething. Holdie is the first teether I've seen a 4-month-old actually keep in their mouth.."

How to use?

  1. Clean before first use. Boil or steam sterilize, then let it dry.
  2. Slip it on. Slide their hand through the wrist loop, fingers tucked under the shield.
  3. Let them chew. When their hand goes to their mouth, the nubs are already there.
  4. Sore day? Pop it in the fridge for a few minutes first. Never the freezer.
  5. Take it off for sleep, then wash in warm soapy water. Use only with an adult close by.

Ingredients

  • BPA-free, phthalate-free and latex-free

I have a drawer with six teethers in it. Probably $70 worth. Every single one ended up on the car floor, the café floor, the dog's mouth. I'd rinse it, hand it back, and 30 seconds later we'd do it all again. My mum sent me the link and I nearly didn't bother. Day three, Ivy wore it through an entire grocery run and I didn't pick it up once. I've stopped carrying the pack of wipes just for teethers.

From about four months Noah chewed his fists constantly. Red knuckles, soaked sleeves, three outfit changes a day. I'd stopped using numbing gels after reading the warnings, and frozen washcloths just made him madder. He can't hold a normal teether, so they were useless. With this one his hand goes to his mouth and the teether's just there. About a week in I noticed his knuckles weren't red anymore. It lives on his wrist now whenever he's awake.

I've worked in infant rooms for 11 years and I'm usually the one telling parents to skip the gimmicky baby stuff. Most "innovative" teethers end up in the lost-property box. I tried one of these with a few of our 4-to-6-month-olds, mainly to prove a point. It stayed on through play time, and the babies went straight for it the way they go for their own hands. Now it's the one thing I mention when a parent asks what to buy for early teething.

I bought a cheap glove teether off Amazon first. The loop was stiff, left marks on his wrist, and slid off constantly, so I figured the whole idea didn't work. I only tried Holdie because a friend swore by hers. This one's soft all the way around and actually stays put, and the side knobs reach further back than the cheap one did. Two weeks in and it's the only teether he'll actually keep using. Bought a second one for the nappy bag.

It’s not you. Regular teethers are built for hands that can’t hold them yet.

Babies can get their hands to their mouth months before they can hold on to anything. So every teether goes like this:

They grab it. Chew for ten seconds.

It drops. Floor, car seat, restaurant booth.

They cry. You pick it up, rinse it, hand it back.

Their fist goes in instead. Red knuckles, soaked sleeves.

Repeat until one of you gives up.

The details that matter at 3am

Slips on in seconds, no clips or straps to fiddle with

Open underneath, so little hands don't get hot and sweaty

Soft silicone all over, even the bits that aren't meant for chewing

Pop it in the fridge for a cool chew on extra-sore days

Boil, steam or dishwasher, then straight back in the bag

Goes where you go: car seat, stroller, restaurant high chair

WHY IT WORKS

Why Gentle Pressure Works

Look up how to soothe teething gums and the first answer is nearly always the same: gentle pressure, from a clean finger or a firm teether to chew. Holdie is built to deliver it all day, without you holding it.

Gentle Counter-Pressure

Chewing presses back against swollen gums, and that pressure is what takes the edge off. Holdie's textured ears and side knobs put it right where they're biting, front and back.

Relief On Their Schedule

Babies soothe their own gums by chewing, but only if something's in their hand when the urge hits. The wrist loop means it always is, no grip or grown-up needed.

Why It Adds Up

A regular teether soothes until it drops. Holdie turns every hand-to-mouth moment into a chew, dozens of times a day, instead of only when you've got a free hand to pass it back.

FAQ

How do I put it on?

Slide their hand through the wrist loop with their fingers tucked under the shield. It takes a couple of seconds once you've done it once.

My baby keeps pulling it off. Is that normal?

Totally normal for the first few days, when it's new and interesting. Put it on when they're calm and already mouthing their hands, not mid-meltdown. Most babies settle into it quickly.

Can they use it in the car seat or stroller?

Yes, that's where it shines, because there's nothing to drop. Just stay close by, and take it off if they doze off.

Can my baby sleep with it on?

No. Take it off at naps and bedtime. Like any teether, it's for awake, supervised time only.

Is there any liquid or gel inside?

No. It's solid silicone all the way through, so there's nothing that can leak.

How do I clean under the shield?

Rinse it under warm soapy water and run a bottle brush under the shield. For a deep clean, boil or steam sterilize it, then let it dry completely before it goes back in the case.

Will it help with molars?

The side knobs reach further back than fingers can. But first molars usually arrive after the first birthday, when most babies can hold a regular teether just fine. Holdie is built for the early months, when they can't.

What if my baby just won't use it?

Some babies take to it straight away, some don't. If yours doesn't within 30 days, message us and we'll refund you.

  • Always use with adult supervision. Not for use during sleep.
